Every family who walks into GD Goenka Global School starts the same way, with questions, and our admission process is built to actually answer them, clearly and at each child’s own pace. The admission process is designed to be transparent, welcoming, and genuinely child-centred, understanding what each child needs before easing them into our international learning community.

Campus Tour & Parent Counselling
Brochures and phone calls only tell you so much, so every family is invited to walk the campus itself and actually feel the learning environment. During the visit, the Admissions Team introduces families to each stage of the journey:
Mom & Me Programme (18 Months – 2 Years)
A parent-accompanied programme that develops early sensory, social, emotional, language, and motor skills through guided play.
Toddler Programme – Pre-Nursery (2+ Years)
A play-based programme that encourages independence, confidence, creativity, communication, and school readiness.
IB Primary Years Programme (Nursery – Grade 5)
Here, learning turns properly inquiry-based, an internationally recognised approach that builds critical thinking, conceptual understanding, collaboration, and international-mindedness well before a child reaches Grade 6.
Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme (Grades 6 – 8)
An internationally benchmarked curriculum that develops academic excellence, analytical thinking, research, communication, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
The tour covers more ground than just those four programmes. By the time it wraps up, most parents have a fairly clear sense of:

Registration
Once a family is ready to move forward, registration itself is straightforward. Parents complete the Admission Application Form and submit:
- Registration Form
- Registration Fee
- Required supporting documents
It’s worth being upfront here: registration does not guarantee admission. It’s subject to the admission process and seat availability.
Student Interaction / Assessment
Every assessment at this stage is age-appropriate, built to understand a child’s readiness, not to test them into a category.
Mom & Me Programme
Parent-child interaction • Observation of developmental milestones • Parent counselling.
Toddler Programme (Pre-Nursery)
Play-based observation. • Communication and social interaction • Developmental readiness • Parent interaction.
Nursery to Grade 1 (IB PYP)
Informal interaction with the child • Observation of communication, confidence, motor skills, and school readiness • Interaction with the teacher and/or School Counsellor (where required).
Grades 2 – 5 (IB PYP)
Review of previous academic records • Written assessment in English and Mathematics • Student interaction • Meeting with the PYP Coordinator (where applicable).
Grades 6 – 8 (Cambridge Lower Secondary)
Review of previous academic records • Written assessment in English, Science, and Mathematics • Student interaction • Meeting with the Cambridge Coordinator • Principal’s interaction.
Students transferring from CBSE, ICSE, State Boards, IB, Cambridge, or other recognised curricula receive structured transition support.
Learning Support Screening
Inclusion isn’t an afterthought in this process, it’s built into it. As part of our commitment to inclusive education, students may be screened to identify any learning, developmental, behavioural, or language support needs. When that support is needed, here’s what it usually looks like:
- The School Counsellor conducts further observations.
- Learning Support requirements are discussed with parents.
- Individual support plans may be recommended.
- ESL support is offered to eligible international students.
Admission Committee Review
Once that screening, if any, is complete, the file moves to the Admission Committee, and this is where the whole child actually gets weighed, not just a single number. The decision is based on:
- Age eligibility
- Student readiness
- Assessment outcomes
- Previous academic performance (where applicable)
- Inclusive education requirements
- Seat availability
- Student-teacher ratio
- Balanced class composition
- Overall well-being of the child
The decision of the Admission Committee is final.
Admission Offer
If it’s a good fit on both sides, this is where that gets made official. Successful applicants receive an Admission Offer Letter, and parents are asked to confirm acceptance within the timeline mentioned in that letter. Where seats aren’t immediately available, eligible applicants may be placed on the waiting list.
Fee Payment & Document Verification
The last formal step is paperwork, and the school tries to make even that part painless. Parents complete admission formalities by:
- Paying the Admission Fee
- Paying the Security Deposit
- Completing the first fee payment, as applicable
- Submitting all mandatory documents
- Completing school declarations and undertakings
Documents generally include:
- Birth Certificate
- Passport and Visa (International Students)
- Aadhaar Card (where applicable)
- Parent Identity Proof
- Address Proof
- Previous School Report Cards
- Transfer Certificate (where applicable)
- Medical Records
- Vaccination Records
- Passport-sized Photographs
- Emergency Contact Details
- Consent and Undertaking Forms
Admission is confirmed only once document verification and fee clearance are both complete.

Before a single class begins, parents go through an orientation of their own, a chance to understand exactly what to expect. It covers:

Student Transition & Induction
For the child, that same care continues once they actually walk through the door on day one. It usually looks like:
- Classroom orientation
- Campus familiarisation
- Meeting teachers and classmates
- Buddy Programme (where applicable)
- Teacher mentoring
- Counselling support (where required)
- Transition support for students joining the IB PYP or Cambridge curriculum from other educational boards
Commencement of Classes
Once every admission formality is complete, students officially begin their learning journey at GD Goenka Global School. What we’re aiming for from that first day onward hasn’t changed: a child who feels safe enough to stay curious, and supported enough to actually become who they’re capable of being.
