A day without walls

GD Goenka Global School (DLF-3, Gurgaon) organized a day without walls for all students from pre-nursery to grade 5 to promote learning through outdoor interactions and experiences.

Pre-nursery students experienced buying fruits and vegetables in a market place setup. For Nursery students, Outdoor Clinic was created with physical well-being activities such as Yoga, Meditation and Mindfulness. Kindergarten and Grade 2 students were taken on the field to Firestation and Post Office. Grades 1, 3 and 4 went to Railway Museum. Grade 5 went to Sanskriti to see different forms of Arts. All the activities and trips were related to their current Units Of Inquiries.

Exposing children to new experiences ignites curiosity about the world around them. Hence, we give them opportunities to explore and learn about what lies beyond the four walls of the school and gain the confidence to take on the world. It was a wonderful experience and an opportunity for facilitators and young learners to bond with each other.
